Spring Ahead

Spring is coming and I for one am so happy to be rid of the snow, ice and bitter cold. The feel of Winter is almost gone from our memory and the need to refresh or renew our body is cropping up. The term "Spring Cleaning" can be applied to our bodies as well as our homes. Spring brings a promise of warmth in the air with a feeling that marvelous possibilities are coming our way. Spring opens us up to love, romance, and the need to heal and sooth ourselves from a harsh winter. I would like to give you a few herbal suggestions that might help you prepare for the wonders of spring.

For those of ou who enjoy taking baths, This may be the perfect rememdy for you to try. This cleansing bath is one I suggest to everybody. So far I have heard only raves about the "soak". To begin drink a cup of Yarrow tea or take about 4 capsules 30-45 minutes before your bath. Using the Yarrow before your bath (or anytime, really) will help you sweat out those nasty toxins. Yarrow has been used to treat wounds, internal and external bleeding, sores, rashes and as a general tonic.

TO PREPARE Healing BATH
Open 9-12 capsules of Ginger or use 3 Tablespoons
1 Cup Baking Soda
1 Cup Sea Salt
Mix all ingredients in a hot bath
Light a candle or two, step in and RELAX

This is a wonderful soak because Ginger draws toxins out of our body and can relieve pain due to inflammation.

When you step out of your bath your skin should feel soft and smooth as Ginger sloughs your dead skin off and your bath water could look a little grayish because of the drawing out of toxins. (Toxins really are nasty stuff that don't belong in your healthy body). So a ginger bath is something to consider more than the change of seasons.

After I soak in a Ginger Bath I apply Lotion
which is the best body lotion I have ever used.

ENJOY!!!

Peppermint Essential Oil

For centuries peppermint has been used to soothe digestive difficulties, freshen breath, relieve colic, gas, headaches, heartburn and indigestion. Peppermint essential oil is an oil that should be part of your natural medicine chest. I believe I have used peppermint oil more than any other essential oil, and I use oils all the time. However peppermint is handy and has so many uses I don't think I could name them all.

I have blended countless amounts of peppermint essential oil for many of my clients who are in pain because it takes down inflammation immediately. It also works very well on soothing itchy skin and cools the skin to help your body stay cooler on unbearably hot days. When my sister-in-law went overseas it was 120 degrees there...She was armed and ready with 1 bottle of peppermint essential oil mixed in a wonderful healing Aloe Vera Gel. This combo brought her body temperature down and helped her adjust to the heat. A life savor among our military. In addition it can relieve stomach discomfort...when you are eating foods from foreign lands...you need peppermint essential oils and a bottle of Food Enzymes.
Don’t forget to Bless our Soldiers and when you are sending them care packages with cookies, books and soaps...add some food enzymes and peppermint essential oil...pre-mix it in the Aloe Vera Gel...You will be appreciated!
